Non-Slip Plush Floor Mat — Traction Beside the Bed & Couch
Most slipping happens in the same three spots. Beside the bed, at the couch, and by the water bowl, because that's where a dog pushes up from lying down. A plush mat with a grippy backing gives them something to stand up on.
Why it works
- Non-slip backing so the mat itself doesn't slide out from under them
- Dense plush pile that gives claws something to grip instead of glass-smooth hardwood
- Six sizes from a small landing pad to a long runner for a hallway
- Four colors (black, milk coffee, deep coffee, gray blue) that look like a rug, not equipment
- Machine washable, which matters when accidents happen
Sizes
| Size | Roughly | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| 45 x 45 cm | 18" x 18" | A landing spot by the bed or water bowl |
| 50 x 50 cm | 20" x 20" | Same, for a bigger dog |
| 70 x 150 cm | 28" x 59" | Along the side of a bed or couch |
| 70 x 180 cm | 28" x 71" | A short hallway run |
| 70 x 210 cm | 28" x 83" | A longer hallway or walkway |
| 90 x 180 cm | 35" x 71" | A wide path in an open room |
Who it's for
Any senior dog living on hardwood, tile or laminate, especially one who has started splaying their legs, hesitating at doorways, or struggling to stand up from a nap.
How it helps
A dog who slips once often starts avoiding that room entirely, and the anxiety makes the next slip more likely. Traction where they get up and down breaks that loop, and it's the cheapest change you can make for a slipping dog.
Where to put it
- Right where they get up from lying down, not in the middle of the room
- At the bottom of the couch or bed, where they land
- Around the food and water bowls, where dogs brace and push
- Wash on a cold cycle and air dry to protect the backing
Questions owners ask
Which size should I get? Start with the spot where you see the slipping. One 18" pad beside the bed helps more than a rug in the middle of the floor.
Will it slide on hardwood? The backing is non-slip. On very smooth tile, add a rug pad underneath.
Is this enough on its own? Often it is for mild slipping. If your dog's back legs are giving out, they need support, not just traction. Tell us what you're seeing and we'll be straight with you.
