Black nails are the reason most people give up. You can't see the quick from the outside — nobody can — so you either guess, or you stop. Guess wrong once and the dog remembers it far longer than you do.
These clippers put an LED directly behind the nail. The light passes through the keratin and the quick shows up as a darker shadow inside it. You stop cutting before you reach it, because now you can see where it is.
